so, we tried to drive to providence this morning, to bring a piece of art to our friend for a show there. we knew it was supposed to rain, which was a mild bummer, we thought. well, turns out it was actually a crazy storm. we encountered two flash floods within about two miles of our house before deciding to turn back. it was pretty intense! it's a good thing we didn't drive halfway there the night before, as we had been considering, since we might have then been stuck there for a while.

it was already a slightly messed up plan because the whole thing was supposed to happen the day before, except then i got called into work in nyc (the opposite direction) on friday for a shift that ended late at night. so i went to nyc, worked (it was a memorial dinner at the central park zoo — i did video for IMAG cameras for some speeches), and stayed overnight with my friend in brooklyn. then i was supposed to head back in the afternoon and we were going to drive halfway to providence, to andrei's sister's house in lyme, but then several things happened (only some of which were poor decisions on my part) and i didn't get back until almost 8pm. and then, yeah, there was a flood. so here we are.

that was a pretty roundabout way to tell of my recent experiences, but i did just watch a wes anderson movie, so maybe the style of narration rubbed off on me a little. anyway, i'm feeling very tired from my adventures, and from taking zz quil i guess. perhaps i'll come back here later to fill in some more details, but more likely i'll just pick up the thread later and tell of some completely different events.
